Re: Online Meeting (?) - Either Voice or Text
I'm online on Google Hangouts all the time, and I'm frequently on Skype as well (though under my real-life name -- PM me if you want to add me on Skype). @MsLanna -- Indeed, our time difference is quite an obstacle. That said, if you can deal with the 5-hour difference, I'll make myself available vi...

Trattok'or means "fail, fall, collapse" so how about trattok? It feels like it has a connotation similar to oh, fail, which seems to fit the situation.

Re: Dedicated Translation Help Thread
I believe the difference between ibac and meg is like so: "That(ibac) is the train that(meg) I'm going to ride." Use meg wherever that could be replaced with which (or in some dialects/situations, what, as in "That(ibac) is what(meg) I'm doing.")

At means to as in "I'm going to work." Bah is dative, which means it designates the indirect object of an action as in "Princess Leia gave a medal to Han and Luke." Princess Leia is the subject, gave is the verb, the medal is the direct object, and Han and Luke are the indirect objects. to Han and ...

Informal Daily Chat Availability
Because the chat nights have been so difficult for everyone to make time for, I'd like to provide some other options for practising Mando'a on a more informal basis: I can be reached at admin [at] mandoa [dot] org on Google Hangouts (chat from inside Gmail, the Google Hangouts app, Google Plus, or w...

Re: Assistance, please.
Looking at the number of people each post has been reaching, it seems to be declining steadily. Part of that is due to how much competition there is for attention on Facebook, and part of it might be due to the frequency of our posts (if nobody explicitly tells FB they want to be notified of our pos...

Re: Weekly Mando'a Night
I'm down for every Sunday at (I forget if it's 7 or 8 in my time zone, but I just hop on at 6 and wait until 9 before logging off).
We should figure out an additional date/time to try and be inclusive of MsLanna and any other folks overseas.

Re: Help finding/creating words!
I like Vlet's suggestion, and I can't find any compound that works better. Works well as ba'adika (though in my head, I hear it as "bahdEEka," dropping the beten) and vod'adika, too.
Also briikase yaim'ol, MsLanna! It has been too long.![Smile :)](./images/smilies/Smiley-Pack-SB/07-smile.gif)

Re: Welcome to Learn Mando'a!
Olarom, Fenedor! Glad to have you join us. I hope our translator and our community serve you well in your quest to learn Mando'a. We also have a (semi-)weekly chat night (usually on Sundays) on IRC, and lessons posted (currently in English, soon in Italian) every day on the Mandoa.Org Facebook page....

Re: Online Meeting (?) - Either Voice or Text
We have a Weekly Mando'a Chat Night most Sundays around 7PM Eastern Time (USA). Beyond that, we have the Mando'a.Org Facebook page and Twitter, and I'm sure most of us have some form of IM. I use Skype and Google Hangouts on a daily basis, and I have AIM and Yahoo IM as well.

It's all good; I hung out on all the IRC channels from 6 to 9 and saw no activity, so it's safe to assume you missed nothing.

Re: Weekly Mando'a Night
Yeah I'll be around. Which channel? On Freenode we have #mandoa or #mando`a , and that other mando, HunterJ will give us admin rights to #mando'a . I suppose we could also make a "mandoa.org" channel specifically for this site so we're not getting too generic. That's the great thing about IRC -- it'...

Re: Dedicated Translation Help Thread
ori'sol comes from solus. There are many related words such as naysol (too many), ge'sol (half), kisol (few). birov has no root that I can find, and no similar words which don't involve the "sol" stem. I would personally go with anything involving the "sol" stem, just for consistency and flexibility...

Re: Mando'a MP3
I think a resource like you are suggesting would be great to have. I agree that we should aim to have such recordings in multiple voices, to help with assimilation of the phonemes, and development of what would amount to a standard dialect and pronunciation. The files could easily be hosted on my se...
