Mando Dog and commands

Unread post by Linebeck » 13 Jun 2017 16:49

Su'cuy gar anade,
I just found a stray dog, and the animal shelter said if we can't find an owner (she had no collar or chip) in 30 days, we can keep her. I have 16 days left, so I'm starting to treat her as my own. I named her Shae after Mandalore the Avenger and I'm trying to get her to respond to Mandalorian commands. Here's what I have so far:

K'olar: Come
Jate dalyc: Good girl
Dush: Bad
Daab: Down
Udesii: calm; calm down

If you notice anything wrong or have another command, please add a reply.
(I couldn't find "Stay" in the dictionary, so if you know what it is, please tell me)

You could probably use "Ke'gev" for 'stay.' Ultimately, use whatever you can remember, because it's not like the dog is going to criticise your translations.
I hope you'll get to keep her!

Possible commands:

Nu'nari - Stay lit. Don't Move
Nu'shaadla - same as above
Ke'shebe! - Sit!
Ba'slanar - leave, "Get!"

How would I say say "stop" or "quit it"?

I would use Pare or Ke'pare for stay, and 'Gev!' for stop.

Don't forget about ke'mot (halt) for "stop".

I would also consider cetar (boot / kneel in submission) for "heel". Side note: I never noticed before that the singular noun for "boot" and the verb for "kneel" were identical. A noun with an -ar ending is annoying to me.
