Looks pretty slick. You worked out many of the "kinks", so to speak.

Oh my goodness. A way of writing it that isn't hell on the hands. I've yet to devise my own personal method because I typically just write in Latin script. Still this is super cool. Vor'e ner vod.

I think i'll use the above writing system. Might adjust one. Or two letters for clearity and ease of writing. Maybe polish it a bit with continuous use.
I like it.

Could you, if it isn't too much trouble, write the alphabet out larger? I'm having a bit of trouble seeing the lines of how you hand wrote it.

So I noticed that there isn't a letter for the english c, or u, or w?

I suppose c can be substituted by s and k, and u by the oo, but what would I use for a w?

For Tal's? Isn't that a W on the right?

Tal did some orthographic reform, things are more based off pronunciation in his version. I like it, but getting everyone to do it is the trick...

Whew long time no post from me, haha, but anyway getting a little back involved...

I think where you're running into a problem with the c and u goes back to the issue with the Romanization of the language (discussed at length in another thread).

The C doesn't exist because it's actually supposed to be a K, and the U doesn't exist because it's actually a dipthong: UY - both of these sounds are represented by their own Mando'a script characters, but the popular Romanization doesn't carry that uniformity very well.

My idea was basically this. Mandalorians, compared to other nations, dont need very sophisticated writing system. So the alphabet is fully phonetic. You write it as you hear it. If its K you hear, its the letter you write. Never understood why english has two letters to write same sound of one letter that can be read differently. Mando’s wouldnt have those complications i think. Its a warriors culture, and duplicate meaning in any symbols, being written or a hand signal, could be to say the least unwelcome.

It really makes more sense to me to be strictly phonetic, yes

I don't know if this thread is dead, but I tried to come up with a writing style that I don't know if it'S good but what do you think?

Personally I just write Mando'a (and... most other things...) in a shorthand version of Aurebesh that I developed for taking uni notes nobody would ask to borrow.
I tend to use a isk and a shen for yc sounds, so anyone trying to back-transliterate would get snarled there.
Were we trying for something that spells the same as the Latin charactery spelling in the canon dictionary (like Welsh, which is not a good language to write in Latin characters!) or something that spells the same as it's said?
