I'll start this one by retranslating 35, because I'm not too happy with how it came out last time.

35. That which does not kill you has made a tactical error.
Ibac meg ne'nari kyr'amur ni ru'gotal kyramla dunar.
That which does not kill me has made [a] fatal error.

36. When the going gets tough, the tough call for close air support.
Gar cuy draar bid atin'la meg ne'lis jor par gaa'tay.
You are never so tough that [you] can't call for help.

37. There is no "overkill." There is only "open fire" and "reload."

Too many weapons is never enough.

38. What's easy for you can still be hard on your clients.
Cuyi tra acyk "pakod narir" bal "ash'ad liser." Ne'chur'waad garast.
There is a space (difference) between "easy to do" and "anyone can [do]." Don't under-price yourself.

39. There is a difference between spare parts and extra parts.
Cuyi tra acyk ne'liniba ne'tome ne'pirimmu ne'tome.
There is a space (difference) between unneeded parts and unused parts.

40. Not all good news is enemy action.

Apparently I need to read more Schlock Mercenary. I haven't read any since high school (a decade-and-change ago). These are fantastic.

One note: the closest concept to "sin" that Kar'buir injected into the language is probably dar'manda.

Yeah, I've been following it for a few years and it's great. According to the author, he's actually getting ready to end the story within the next year or two. Which makes sense, because biological immortality for everyone in the galaxy is within reach and the AI singularity is rapidly approaching, so he's running out of sharks to jump.

Also, thanks for the heads-up, but I'm happy with how #4 turned out (though the phrasing could use a little tweaking once I finish the rest). My translation philosophy is to prioritize author's intent over original wording, so while a squad may feel differently, I don't think being a stupid lieutenant is quite enough to warrant being disowned by their culture. xD "Sin" is idiomatically significantly less severe than "dar'manda," if only because sins can be forgiven.

41. "Do you have a backup?" means "I can't fix this."
"Tion gan tadyc?" sirbu "Ne'gotal ibic."
"Do have second?" says "Can't fix this."

42. "They'll never expect this" means "I want to try something stupid."
"Val ne'ban'tioni ibic" sirbu "Ni copaan kebuur jare'la dajun."
"They not-guess this" says "I want to try stupid plan."

43. If it's stupid and it works, it's still stupid and you're lucky.
Meh cuyi dikut'la bal borari, cuyi su'dikut'la bal gar cuy jate'kara.
If is stupid and works, is still-stupid and you're lucky.

44. If it will blow a hole in the ground, it will double as an entrenching tool.
Meh lise gotal palon o'r vheh, tebece ven'borari as vheh'gaanur'se.
If can make hole in ground, munitions will-work as shovels.

45. The size of the combat bonus is inversely proportional to the likelihood of surviving to collect it.
Gar ne'lis pirim waade meg waad gar oyar.
You can't use money that cost your life.

Ne'par par aru'e narir gar bora par gar. ((Translator's note: I don't think I managed to fit enough A's into this sentence.))

48. If it ain't broke, it hasn't been issued to the infantry.
Trat'aab cuyi shukur kebise. Cerat val shal aru'e ru besbalor cu'ami kaden.
Infantry exists to break things. Point them at enemy before quartermaster becomes angry.

49. Every client is one missed payment away from becoming a target and every target is one bribe away from becoming a client.
Nar bora par meg gar as'gaan ber. Ne'cuy gaanadyc beh meg lise beri.
Do job for which you receive payment. Not-be picky about who can pay.

You, vod, get a special shout-out. Every word in green on this thread came from your Total Guide to Mandalorian Language, and this definitely wouldn't have been possible (or would have been immensely harder) without it. I intend to condense your work into a Beginner's Guide thread once I finish with this project, if you wouldn't mind looking through it once it's finished and making sure I'm not pointing the evaar'adate in the wrong direction.

Thanks! I'm afraid this may be on hold for a bit; my job dried up, so I'm spending all of my free time hunting for another one. Might have a lead on a NASA gig, we'll see.

I do intend to finish this, and probably send it to Schlock's author when it's done. I just don't know when I'll have the time.

Took a while to finish my degree and nail down a new job, but I'm back doing basically what I was before, and that means more time for more translations! Hopefully I'll get it finished in the next few months so I can shoot it off to Howard Tayler before Schlock Mercenary wraps up.

No time (or brain cells) to write after midnight here, but expect more fixed translations in the next week or so.

Okay, time for 10 more (starting with 20, which I apparently never finished). These are getting less painful to edit as I go, which either means that I improved rapidly as I was writing these, or I've gotten rusty. I'm hoping the former.
