Cold weapons?
But for real, look at the names of real polearms, they're often metaphorical at best and completely unrelated we at worst

Eh, could be better, yeah. Kinda gets the message across, at least. (It's not like real life naming conventions are super smart)

Re: Writing
The old ones? Various Mando mercenary shenanigans, a lot of that stuff was from back when I was really bad at writing. The newer stuff mostly followed a Republic Navy captain on one storyline, a Mandalorian partisan on another, and a separate thing with an ISB officer as a side story. It ran off and...
Re: Writing
I've written a few really old fanfics, but the vast majority of my writing has been play-by-post RP. I've ran long games set in the clone wars, among other things.

Re: Name particle
What, like Canderous be Ordo? Canderous b'Aliit Ordo? Maybe, but the vibe I generally operate on with Mando'a is fewer words, not more...

Ah, finally caught up on the latest episode. Interesting change of pace, and I KNEW that technicality was going to come up eventually. I'm pretty happy with where this is going.

Yeah, the glass tablet annoyed me a bit, but I guess there's not much I can do about it

Re: Absolute Direction and Geocentric Language
Sure, but am I on the same track you're thinking here? As in, that's the content you want to get across with the suffix?

Re: -ness
You might want to use bid for this, it expresses a similar feeling
e.g. "kaysh nu'bid iviinyc" for "he's not so fast"

Re: MANDO
I haven't caught tonight's yet, probably won't see it until a day from now due to my schedule. That said, I'm very happy they're finally bringing back what feels more like the old culture I fell in love with all those years ago. They've only given us the tiniest smattering of Mando'a so far, but it'...

Re: Absolute Direction and Geocentric Language
As in, sur'la would imply something observed, sush'la for something heard, ret'la for something you're inherently not sure about... I'm trying to figure out what form these parts of speech might take

So, something along the lines of sur'la, sush'la... I dunno, ret'la, for roots?

Re: Absolute Direction and Geocentric Language
Regarding clusivity, I can see the appeal, though I always wish the words sounded more distinct for clarity's sake. Evidentiality... I might need to see some examples to understand what you're proposing here.

Re: Absolute Direction and Geocentric Language
I like using an absolute reference frame, but I don't think that reference frame should presume the speaker is facing "north" as that leads to confusion as to whether you actually mean north. For practical purposes though, using cardinal directions preferentially over left and right would likely be ...

Re: List of Custom Words
I like a lot of these! I think with uma'kebise we might also want to use either buruk or something derived from buruk to mean trouble in a more menacing sense, like the difference between a hard but not critical issue and one that will cause serious damage in some way. I think bet is a handy auxilia...
