Re: The Seventy Maxims of Maximally Effective Mando'ade
I'll start this one by retranslating 35, because I'm not too happy with how it came out last time. 35. That which does not kill you has made a tactical error. Ibac meg ne'nari kyr'amur ni ru' gotal kyramla dunar. That which does not kill me has made [a] fatal error. 36. When the going gets tough, th...

17 is why counter-intel is important, so you can make your enemies think their plan is coming together nicely. Not that I have first-hand experience with such things. Re: List of Custom Words
I doubt more words are ever bad to have. Even if Mandos don't mummify anything themselves, they've probably encountered it in other cultures, and probably assimilated individuals originating from said cultures. So I've been making some new words in my own thread for a while, but forgot to post them ...

Re: Reading Mando'a
I actually have a friend working on a reading at the moment. She's an up-coming professionally trained voice actor with several podcast guest appearances and a video game contract under her belt. I'll post it here once she's done with it (with English and Mando'a subtitles). She's also working up an...

Conventions, anyone?
I'm curious to see whether any of our spheres of influence overlap. I can often be found at Dragon*Con in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, but I also do cons in Alabama, and I haven't ruled out Florida or Tennessee. American deep south, basically. Anyone else in that region? If not, which conventions do you g...

Re: The Seventy Maxims of Maximally Effective Mando'ade
I'm going to start adding literal translations as a third line to make reverse-engineering the translations (and my possibly flawed thought processes) easier. 5. Re: Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis
Racism may not exist in the Mando'a thoughtspace, but nationalism certainly does. Mandos use the same word (aruetii) for "traitor," "foreigner," and "outsider," with linguistic ties to "enemy" (aru'e). If memory serves, some interpretations of the Resol'nare require that armor be worn in public, and...

Yeah, the coming of age thing wasn't particularly inspired. I'm just throwing ideas out. I think the teenager thing would presume that the work was done (or at least far enough along that they could be spared for the afternoon). Get the grunt work that benefits from young, able bodies in the morning...

Space corn. Perfect. We'll add it to the list with blue milk and transparisteel. xD Needling aside, I really don't have a better name for it without mashing my keyboard, space corn works. I'd recommend fleshing out spring a bit more. Maybe add a coming-of-age ceremony for adolescent Mando'ade that t...

Re: The Seventy Maxims of Maximally Effective Mando'ade
This is definitely helping, thanks. So far, all of my words have come from the main site dictionary and Taljair's Total Guide To Mandalorian Language , posted here , with pronoun suffixes applied as appropriate. To the best of my knowledge, I haven't invented or misspelled anything, but I've also on...
