I agree that metric is vastly superior to imperial in terms of length, weight, and volume, but time is another matter entirely. Where length etc. can be based on a decimal system, time is based on inherently sexagesimal circles.

I'm trying to translate a poem I found online into Mando'a, and two of the words I'm having trouble finding a translation for are the noun gain, and the noun loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Vaar vor'e!

I've been thinking of a way to say regret in Mando'a, taking into consideration the points you raised, and I think some combination of trattok'or (or some variation of it) and trikar might work. Any thoughts/suggestions?

I think perhaps "du'trikar" (from the words du'car and trikar) might work for regret. My logic being that regret seems to have a meaning of sadness about something after the fact (I could be parsecs off, as I don't know the exact definition of regret), and du'trikar seems to convey the same meaning ...
