Re: Words i accumulated or invented so far
I agree that metric is vastly superior to imperial in terms of length, weight, and volume, but time is another matter entirely. Where length etc. can be based on a decimal system, time is based on inherently sexagesimal circles.

Re: Semantics: Analyzing Mando'a words and their real meanin
Going through the dictionary, trying to find connections between various words (Whats my excuse for doing so at 0200 hours, you may ask? Simple; I have no life ), and I noticed the word solus means among other things, alone as well as united... Just mildly interexting food for thought.

Re: Words i accumulated or invented so far
Mostly they measured time in minutes and hours, for ancients didn’t need so small measure as a second: I understand that having a measurement of time as small as a second would have been essentially useless to them in every day life, but I feel that the ancients would have still needed a word for s...

Re: Semantics: Analyzing Mando'a words and their real meanin
looking through the dictionary, and one word jumped out at me as being somewhat strange. Beroya (Bounty hunter, for those lazy ones who don't want to look it up) comes from the root word oya (Hunt). That part is pretty straightforward. However, I can't find the other part of the word anywhere in the...

Re: Dedicated Translation Help Thread
I'm trying to translate a poem I found online into Mando'a, and two of the words I'm having trouble finding a translation for are the noun gain, and the noun loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Vaar vor'e!

I'm all for working together to get the Bible translated into Mando'a. I guess I'll get started on the book of Job when I get the chance. Any objections? EDIT: The version of the bible I'm using is in the following QR code, and I will post original text above as well. EDIT 2.0: Ner ca'nara ori yaihi...

Re: Help finding/creating words!
I've been thinking of a way to say regret in Mando'a, taking into consideration the points you raised, and I think some combination of trattok'or (or some variation of it) and trikar might work. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Re: Help finding/creating words!
I think perhaps "du'trikar" (from the words du'car and trikar) might work for regret. My logic being that regret seems to have a meaning of sadness about something after the fact (I could be parsecs off, as I don't know the exact definition of regret), and du'trikar seems to convey the same meaning ...
