Re: Hopefully I can help: A Discussion Thread

SO, I'm back from my appointment in the tattoo studio.
I can't show the tattoo, because I don't know how to insert a photo/picture here without saving on a webhoster.
But I am very satisfied and happy about the result.

Re: Hopefully I can help: A Discussion Thread

Thank you. So it doesn't really matter? Ok. I'll use the font that looks recognizable to me. No one else of all people around me will ever be able to read it let alone understanding it.
But I don"t care, it is for me.
I will have to find out, how I can show pictures here...

Re: Hopefully I can help: A Discussion Thread

I just have a problem about this. I want to use Mandoa letters for my tattoo. But.... There a some different type fonts. I printed the "total guide to mandalorian language" to learn it, but i can't find the font, that is used therefor. For example the "sh" or "oy" has a special letter there, that do...

Re: Hopefully I can help: A Discussion Thread

Hi there again. I need your thoughts: I"m gonna get a tattoo in Mando'a on Oct.21. I choose this (from the dictionary): cin vhetin bal shereshoy but in Mandoa letters of course. I think it matches with my current situation (my husband left me after 20 years and now I try to get used to a new life......

Re: Mando Skraan and Recipes

100 Gramm Ptitim (israeli couscous) since I couldn't get this, I took little round noodles Would regular couscous work? It's available in loads of supermarkets here in the UK No, regular couscous has very small "balls" and doesn't stay single, but ends up in a mash. Ptitim is shown as a bit bigger ...

Re: Hopefully I can help: A Discussion Thread

Hopefully you can translate this (or can I already find it here somewhere?):

Aliit ori'shya tal'din

What does that mean? I read it on a merch and want to know the meaning before buying it.
Aliit is the tribe, but the rest I don' know
Thanks!

Re: Mando Skraan and Recipes

it was not too much water for me, exactly right. I added the noodles as they were and let them cook in the soup. The next day there was no liquid left, it was like... mushy (?) and the noodles got very big. but i found it tasty, i think, this is the way it should be. Of the spices i added more than ...

Re: Mando Skraan and Recipes

You should try, it"s really tasty.

This is what I found:
1 Liter = 0,26 us gal lqd or 33,8 us fl oz
100 Gramm = 3,5 oz

I can give no guarantee if that's right....

Re: Mando Skraan and Recipes

Ok, here it comes. Hope I can translate right (my recipe book is in german of course) I'll begin with Tiingilar : 2 tablespoons of olive oil 1 big onion, in pieces 2 cloves of garlic, fine tiny pieces 1 tablespoon of fresh ginger, rubbed/grated (?) 500 g chicken thigh (without skin and bones) 1 red ...

Re: "This is the Way" in mando'a ?

Thanks. This means not really english pronouncement actually. A written "u" spoken as a "u" isn't really english, right? It's like in German, good for me ;)
You take "oo" for this pronouncement, like "look" or "book", right?

Re: Want to learn Mando'a? Hopefully I can help

Wow! Why are you knowing Mando'a so well? Where did you learn this? It's great! How can I come to this? I'm just beginning, looking what's the best way to learn it. You surely know the phrase "this is the way" from the Star wars series " the mandalorian". I couldn't find a translation to Mando'a so ...

Re: Mando Skraan and Recipes

I own the recipe book (sorry, is this the right word for it? I'm german...) "Star Wars Galaxys Edge" . I tried last weekend Uj-cake (Uj'alayi) and Mandalorian "One-pot" named Tiingilar. I can give you the recipes here if you want. Maybe you can find all the unusual ingredients in your country, I did...

Re: Welcome to Learn Mando'a! (Post Here to Introduce Yourself)

Hi there. Hope I am in the right place here.... I am from Northern Germany, so please excuse my english. My school days (with english lessons) are a long time ago and I'm learning english now again by watching movies in original language- english. This forum doesn't offer german, or I didn't find it...
